i do love the 446 - this is true. and, i ain't hatin on computers for recording - they're just different tools with different results. some jobs need a shovel some need a spade. your shit proves computers are awesome for home recording stuff. no way you could have done that on a 4 track 5 years ago. it's pretty awesome.

in other news - verdict on MX70 - 14 channels up and running. parts on order from japan for the remaining 2. i forsee getting royally fucked on the payment for this one. (see steve - you don't have these obscene problems to deal with with your computer).

i dicked with the neotek strips last night to try and figure out what the hell was going on and i think i found a major oversight of mine... the fader out is kind of just hanging there connected to nothing. this may explaing some of my problems. i was fancy enough to hack together some probes for the oscilloscope and trace a sine wave from line in all they way up to IC7 - which is after the fader - a step before the direct out. (uh.... duh...) i still cant figure out then how the fuck a mic level signal makes it out but a line doesnt. more on that later.

viva la 446. have you seen doc grips new page? it's rediculous. especially his white bread wisco girls. that is just soooooo wisconsin. nice rocket dog fat sandals. what's up 1998. (history - 446 did a dis track about doc grip which by the way sleeve... where is that?)

I don't use a tape machine, I use a computer. Kraska hates computers but he loves the 446. Here's the pictures to prove it, actually it's just some instrumentals. I suppose I could go talk about these on Chicago TapeOp, too. I may just do that.

"Miserably Delicious"
"Oh Snap (446 Is Back)"
"Reminiscin' (Let's Blow It Up)"
"Stunt 2 Much"
"Jagglin' & Whastlin'"
"Hit Tha Ground"

My "setup" is various instruments and/or microphones running through a Leixcon "Alex" digital effects processor or an Alesis 3630 dual channel compressor. Whichever, it plugs into a Yamaha MT50 (hey, that's kind of like MX70) which goes RCA out to mini-jack, which is plugged into the back of my PC. People have referred to this setup as "ghetto."

Pretty much all of this stuff was donated to me by my extremely generous cousin, who is also a musical genius, no lie, you should hear his shit.
